WebDev 2001 and MCLI Technology Dialogue Day
Friday, November 9, 2001
Glendale Community College
What is WebDev?

An annual conference to promote web development in Maricopa, with presentations, workshop sessions, and demonstrations in varying formats. While many faculty attend, WebDev has drawn a majority of PSA and MAT employees in various support roles. This program has been coordinated by District ITS in teamwork with other departments and host campuses over the years.

What is a Dialogue Day?

Frequent events (one to three months apart) where Maricopa faculty come together and share ideas on how to enhance teaching and learning, with presentations, workshops, and discussions in varying formats. Coordinated by the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction and hosted at various campuses, this program focuses on the interests and input of instructors.

What is The Strongest Link?

The event of WebDev 2001 was linked in place and time with November's Technology Dialogue Day. This year's theme of The Strongest Link highlighted the "feedback loop" of the Internet -- both in the way that it may strengthen the connection between the broadcasters and receivers of information in the classroom, and in the way that it can bridge communication and teamwork within our organization.

Along the way, attendees were offered exciting new ideas -- from using new technologies to engage students in the classroom, to applying the most efficient techniques to maintain a department web site.

For residential faculty, this event was pre-approved for five clock hours toward non-academic advancement credit. All employee groups were encouraged to attend.
