The Strongest Link: Round One
Bobby Sample, Project Coordinator in the GCC Innovation Center, explained the rules: all pairs of audience members sharing "clickers" would agree upon an answer to each question while it was projected on-screen and read in turn by the hosting team of Karen Schwalm and Carol Myers, Assistant Programming Manager of District ITS. Within the time limit, the panel members would record answers on their notepads. A graph of the audience responses was displayed on-screen after the time elapsed for each question. The contestants could earn one point each by matching the popular vote. This first segment of the game was devised as a warmup round, with trivia, humor, many questions with fact-based answers, and a very brief response period (30 seconds per question, for 16 questions). Readers of this web site may play along! Use the virtual "clicker" (or use the text links) to select your answers. If you're making a repeat visit through this web site for reading only, select "0" (no answer) to progress through the questions. Update (August 2002): Round One includes a few trivia items that became out-of-date within months, but you might still find it amusing. Rounds Two and Three cover topics that remain relevant and avoid obvious "right or wrong" answers.
