Using the Wireless Network
- The GCC wireless network
does NOT use WEP to encrypt traffic across the wireless
network. If you are transmitting sensitive information such as username/password,
student ID or social security number, look for the SSL lock icon in
the lower left or right corner of your browser to verifty a SSL connection.
.
SSL
provides a secure commincation channel
between the web server and the browser.
- The user accepts responsibility for his or her own account and wireless devices.
- Any illicit activity will be punishable with loss of privileges to the wireless network.
- After 10 minutes of network inactivity you will be automatically logged off.
- Your wireless network session can last 2 hours, at which time you will be automatically logged off and asked to re-login to the wireless network.
- Printing is not accessible through the wireless network.
